Update Dec 17, 2015: After announcing the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016) earlier this month, now the company has officially launched the smartphones in China. Both the devices come with a fingerprint sensor, NFC and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The Galaxy A5 (2016) is priced at 2,398 Yuan (approx $370/Rs. 24,550) while the Galaxy A7 (2016) will cost you 2,699 Yuan (approx $416/Rs. 27,650).
Earlier Dec 3, 2015: Samsung has been surrounded by the rumors for a while now about the launch of the next-gen Galaxy A series smartphones. Now, the company has officially announced the 2016 Galaxy A series smartphones called as Galaxy A3 (2016), Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016) in China. All the three devices come with improved design sporting metal and glass bodies and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based TouchWiz UI out of the box.

He further added, “with the introduction of the Galaxy A (2016), we took the consumer feedback on our original Galaxy A models and made thoughtful, and impressive improvements for offering consumers a seamless convergence of style and performance for their everyday lifestyles.”
Let’s talk about the smartphones in detail:
Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016)
The Galaxy A3 (2016) features a 4.7-inch (720×1280 pixels) HD Super AMOLED display and comes powered by unspecified quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz coupled with 1.5GB RAM. The device has 16GB of built-in storage and can be further expanded to 128GB using a microSD card slot. The device sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, f/1.9 aperture and a 5MP front shooter for selfie lovers. The handset comes backed by a 2300mAh battery, and its dimensions measure just 7.3 mm weighing around 132 grams.
Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016)
The Galaxy A5 (2016) flaunts a 5.2-inch (1080×1920 pixels) Full-HD Super AMOLED display offering a pixel density of 424ppi. Under the hood, is the unknown 1.6GHz Octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage and microSD card slot for further expansion. The handset comes powered by a 2900mAh battery and also comes with a fingerprint sensor integrated into the physical home button on the front of the device. On the camera front, the device features a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and a 5MP selfie shooter to capture crisp selfie images.
Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016)
The Galaxy A7 (2016) is the bigger and best among all the three devices. It sports a 5.5-inch Full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) Super AMOLED display and comes equipped with the same set of processor and cameras as seen on the Galaxy A5 (2016). The device has 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and also includes a fingerprint sensor for enhanced security. A larger 3300mAh battery backs the smartphone and is also heavier weighing around 172 grams.
All the devices support dual sim dual standby and come with connectivity options like 4G-LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS, Wi-Fi and microUSB port. The smartphones are expected to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in future and will be available in Black, White, Gold and Rose Gold color variants. The company does not yet reveal the pricing of the Galaxy A3 (2016), Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016).
