Use Android Mobile as Webcam for PC – Wi-Fi & USB Mode – Download App Apk

IP WebcamIf you are using the Android based mobile phone then you have chosen the right mobile software platform. Android powered by Google is amazing operating system for mobiles which is an open source and best thing comes with the complete rights to install any Android App on your mobile. Recently browsing through the Android App Marketplace, I can across IP Webcam app, I read the description and thought of having a try with it, the next it happened to be surprise to me as it can make your mobile phone work as webcam for PC supporting Wi-Fi and USB mode.

IP Webcam for Android

IP Webcam is an Android App which can do wonders for you. It turns your phone into a wireless camera with multiple viewing options. The camera can be viewed in VLC Media player or any web browser on any platform. It’s a personal suggestion that you go with Google Chrome rather than with Internet Explorer.

Now without the need of your front facing camera you can use your primary camera located on the rear side with Skype, Chatroulette and other video chat software’s for video streaming but its limited for Windows only. But usage for the large time will dry up your battery within no time and Android mobile phone consumes more battery makes it more limited.

IP Webcam supports Windows, Mac and Linux. It works like a charm on most of the mobile phone and it gets 4 star rating in official Android Marketplace. The IP Webcam is ideal for short time use like keep an eye on your pets when you are in another room.

IP Webcam IP Webcam

Regardless of platform, you can open the video streaming on any PC or laptop by opening the address provided when you install this app provided you connect only within the same network.

Did you know that you can even also expose this webcam on internet. For doing that you need to know the external IP and read your router’s documentation on port forwarding. This would enable to view video streaming from any PC anywhere.

IP Webcam Download

As you know it’s easy to install apps on your Android mobile phone. Go to your mobile phone and tap Market. Download the App APK here – IP webcam and click on install, it would be ready for use.

Please help. I am not tech savy at all. I see many of you are though.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3, I have downloaded the IP Webcam that everyone is raving about. I am at a friend’s house and I am not part of their network. I understand I have to be part of their network to make my webcam work, correct? Can I be a part of their network without them knowing if I acquire the correct information from their computer. I want to use my phone as a webcam to monitor what happens in the driveway without them knowing, I don’t want to alarm them. Can I accomplish any or all of these? If you respond and I would appreciate that, please do it as a teacher and go slow. I appreciate any helpful responses. Just to inform you when I try to connect, and I am using their Wi-Fi, which I use on my laptop, so I do know the password to log into their Wi-Fi, I get the message: If you want to expose your phone to the internet, and your router has an external IP, read your router’s documentation on port forwarding. I don’t think I want to expose my phone to the internet, do I? Other than that, I really don’t have an idea what they are saying. Thanks again for your time, Mike

I was thinking of recording a video and edit it side by side on my laptop. Since, my laptop does not have a good camera, and I do not have any other good camera to attach with my computer I was wondering if I can use camera of my Galaxy Note.
Do you think it is possible to be done with this application, or do you think there is any alternative to this app? If it is possible, then how? And what alternatives would you suggest me?

I want to use my android as a eye for the robot I have built. The android would be controlled via PC which will further control the micro controller. Now Web Cam app is perfect in one portion to deliver the video to the PC. But I need another utility in the Android which will run to accept commands from the PC. How that can be done?

Any help will be highly appreciated.
