Archos 50 Helium 4G Android Phone Unveiled at CES 2014 – Specs, Details

Archos is going to unveil it’s another 4G device at CES 2014 alongside the Archos 45 Helium. This is also comes in an affordable price featuring 4G connectivity with a 5 inch screen priced at for a mere $249. This will be a flagship model from Archos coming into the market as competitor to the Nexus 5 and the Moto X.

Archos 50 helium

The Archos’s 50 Helium 4G sports a 5 inch 1280 x 720 IPS touch screen display and powered by a 1.4 GHz Qualcomm quad-core processor coupled with a 1 GB of RAM. This device is having an 8 GB of internal memory that can be extended via microSD card as it was in the Archos 45 Helium. The camera on the rear is an 8 MP shooter with Auto focus and LED flash capable of taking 1080 p Videos with BSI sensor and has a 2 MP front camera giving good quality video calling feature.

The handset supports connectivity of 4G-LTE giving faster browsing speeds, Bluetooth v3.0 + A2DP + HFP + EDR, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot and A-GPS with Glonass support and Micro USB 2.0. The Archos 50 Helium will be out of the box with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean that can be upgraded to Android v4.4.2 KitKat later.

The Archos 50 Helium has the similar specifications as the Archos 45 Helium (given in our earlier post) except for the screen size and resolution, camera and battery. These are very much a high end specifications making this device a flagship from Archos. This device will be available for $249, which is pretty much affordable. Archos would be hoping to catch up with many bigger companies with this device and increase its reputation.
