After its sneak preview last year, Asus Padfone had a long journey before its launch got too much delayed. Asus was available for hands-on at Mobile World Congress and this three in one device is been launched in India now.
Asus Padfone
Asus Padfone is a multipurpose device working as a smart phone, tablet and notebook at once. The tablet includes a dock station with keyboard which joined works as notebook whenever required. The Padfone attached to the Padfone station is a like a normal smart phone allowing users to go through calls and other functions commonly found on a smart phone. Now when the Padfone is docked into PadFone Station it becomes a tablet PC.
Padfone includes the 4.3 inches Super AMOLED qHD display screen providing a maximum resolution of 960 x 540 pixels resolution. Its powered with Qualcomm 8260A Dual-core 1.5 Ghz processor and includes the 1 GB DDR2 storage. It includes 32 GB of internal storage capacity and has 8 mega pixel camera on the rear side for image capturing capabilities. It’s powered with 1520 mAh battery which provides 440 hours of talk time and includes the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
The PadFone Station includes the 10.1 inches display screen providing a maximum resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels with capacitive touch. It also includes 8 mega pixel camera on the rear side with 1080p HD video recording and front side 1.3 mega pixel camera. It includes 24.4 Watt-hr battery and has External Antenna / GPS Antenna.
Asus Transformer Pad TF300TG
Transformer Pad TF300TG also debut in India along with Padfone during the event in Bangalore. TF300TG includes the built in 3G and it was first sighted at Mobile World Congress earlier this year. The Pad TF300TG includes the 10 inches IPS touchscreen display providing a maximum resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and powered with Tegra 3 quad core processor clocked at 1.2 Ghz. It includes 8 mega pixel camera on the rear side and 1.2 mega pixel camera on the front facing side. It runs on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS and includes the 3G internet connectivity as well. It has Micro SD, USB 2.0 port, micro SD card slot and Micro HDMI port.
It includes Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and it will be updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS pretty soon via the OTA update.
At the launch event in Bangalore, Asus made it clear that the all time favorite Nexus 7 tablet will go on for sale in November and the pricing of it will be revealed next month. Google Nexus 7 tablet was announced last month at Google I/O event. The 7 inches tablet possessing Tegra 3 quad core processor runs on the latest released Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, mainly developed by Asus.
Asus Padfone Price & Availability
Asus Padfone is priced at Rs 65,000 which is ridiculously over price even though this includes three in one facility. Also the Transformer Pad TF300TG is premium priced at Rs 43,999. What do you say about these device pricing? Would you buy one?
