Asus Transformer Pad TF300 Gets Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OTA Update

The Google Nexus 7 tablet was launched during the Google I/O summit for developers held last week of June. Nexus 7 is a manufactured product of Asustek and they are proud of their relationship with Google to bring out Kindle Fire competitor.

It was just last month that Asustek made it clear to bring to the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update to three of their famous tablet namely Transformer Pad TF300, Transformer Pad Infinity TF 700 and the Transformer Prime TF201. But it turned out to be a good news for Transformer Pad TF300 owners as the update are available via the Over the Air and it went on live officially.Asus Transformer Pad TF300

Transformer Pad TF300 is among those few early devices to receive the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update. Certainly Asus have too the advantage of the Galaxy Nexus early stage development and this is why they are the front runner in bringing out Jelly Bean to various tablets and smart phones. This update is only available for the users in United States right now and will be slowly pushed to the users worldwide.

Reportedly, Transformer Pad Infinity and the Transformer Prime will receive the Jelly Bean update in the coming days. This update doesn’t bring much of the improvements and enhancements in the tablet but still it includes the following features -

  • Voodoo OTA Root keeper works like charm
  • Runs the device more smoother
  • Faster responsive touch screen support
  • Fixes some of the bugs and improves stability
  • Google Chrome improves performance for better stability and page rendering
  • Improvements on the Stock Email exchange application on the tablet as it shows the conversation capabilities
  • Includes all the Jelly Bean features

You are been warned that Adobe Flash will not work if you proceed with the update. Also Wi Fi Direct options as included in the Ice Cream Sandwich update will not also work. Users might have received this update notification on their tablet and if you have received this notifications then you can simply pull down the notification and then follow the on screen instructions to apply the updates to your tablet.

For those users who haven’t received the update notifications, they can go through Menu > Settings > About tablet and then tap on Software Update Option. In Software Update, tap on Check Now to connect Asus Servers. Once you get request, click on download and once those updates files are downloaded, it will be automatically applied to your tablet bringing you the Jelly Bean version on your tablet. Also before updating your tablet you should make sure that you have taken the backup using the Asus Sync or any other method which you have followed earlier.

  1. A new Android tablet owner and I’m still getting used to the percularities of Android system. Most updates in the Windows system (sorry)means improvement but going to Jellybean,features are given up. Am I wrong?
