[appbox firefoxaddon appid]Asus announced ‘Zenfone Selfie (ZD551KL)‘ last month at Computex 2015 Conference held in Taiwan. Today Asus has launched the device in India with price starting from Rs.15,999. The USP of the device is its 13MP front and rear cameras with dual tone flash. The Zenfone Selfie is the company’s first smartphone to feature Qualcomm Snapdragon processor instead of Intel Atom processors.
The Zenfone Selfies features a 13-megapixel camera in the back, which features dual-tone flash, laser autofocus, f/2.0 aperture and full HD (1080p) video recording. The smartphone also comes with the 13-megapixel camera in the front has dual-tone flash as well, f/2.2 aperture, 88-degree field of view and full HD (1080p) video recording.
The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor instead of Intel’s quad-core CPU that powers the Zenfone 2. It sports a 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 4 coating instead of Gorilla 3 that protects the Zenfone 2.
It comes in two different variants, one of the variant comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of Internal storage, and the second variant has 3GB of RAM with doubled internal storage of 32GB. The company also included a microSD card slot with a maximum of 128GB support. There is a 3000 mAh Li-Polymer battery on the device. It comes with dual SIM dual standby support and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop based ZenUI.
Connectivity of the device includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0. Both the variants measures 156.5 x 77.2 x 10.8 mm and weighs 170 grams. The device is available in the colors – Pure White, Chic Pink, and Aqua Blue. The company hasn’t mentioned the pricing for the variant featuring 3GB RAM, while the 2GB RAM variant is priced at Rs.15,999.
