AT&T Motorola ATRIX MB860 Gets Software Update v4.5.141 OTA

You can update your phone via following two methods easily –

Update via OTA Notification

  • If you have received a notification from AT & T or Motorola about this firmware update then you can pull down that notification from the notification bar and just click on download to proceed with the installation.
  • Once the software files are downloaded, you need to tap on Install button.
  • Once the software is installed, your phone will automatically get re started.
  • You will get notification showing you that your phone is updated.

Update via Manual Process

  • For those users who have skipped the notifications update or for those who didn’t receive any notifications then can check for the update on their mobile phones directly by going through Settings in the main menu.
  • You need to select ‘About Phone’ option.
  • Now tap on ‘System Update’ and a message will be displayed with the availability of an update.
  • Tap on download to proceed with the download and then finally click on Install button.
  • Once the software update is installed on your phone, it will automatically get restarted.
  • That will complete the upgrade process

I am sorry to say this but the update is not only useless but turns a fully functioning phone into a spoilt one.

Same problem happened to me; phone installed update; phone never came out of reboot; had to manually remove battery. Then once I put the battery back in the phone booted, but now continually reboots after about 1-2 minutes of up time regardless of activity.

there is an issue with the OTA Update itself! there is no solution released by motorola as of now!

After this automatically installed (no choice other than now or later), the e-mail push no longer works and it has cut the battery life in half. Nice work ATT & Motorola. Turned a well functioning phone into burden to maintain.

I’m currently being forced to install this update. Its been going for over an hour (just sitting at the initial red and black moto screen). The phone wasn’t rooted or anything. How long should this take? Kind of ridiculous so far.
