BlackBerry launched its first Android-powered smartphone called as BlackBerry Priv back in October last year. Today, the company has officially launched the flagship BlackBerry Priv Android smartphone in India. The main USP of the device is it comes with slider display and 4-row physical keyboard. The BlackBerry Priv priced at Rs. 62,990 comes in Black Color option and will be for sale via all authorized offline partners and online exclusively via Amazon.
Coming to the specifications part, the BlackBerry Priv flaunts a 5.4-inch (2560×1440 pixels) 2K AMOLED dual-curved display offering a pixel density of 540ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 laid on top of it for protection. Under the hood, it packs 64-bit Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz coupled with Adreno 418 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The device supports dual sim dual standby and runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box with a guranteed upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in near future.
On the photographic section, the smartphone sports an 18MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, OIS, PDAF for faster focus and also supports 4K video recording. On the front, it comes with a 5MP shooter with a f/2.8 aperture to capture perfect selfie images. The device comes with standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS, Wi-Fi and microUSB 2.0 port.
The smartphone comes with 32GB of onboard storage and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion upto 2TB. The handset powers a 3410mAh battery that the company claims can offer upto 22.5 hours of battery life with mixed usage and also supports quick charging. The dimensions of the device measure 147 x 77.2 x 9.4 mm and weighs around 192 grams.
