How to Blacklist or Block Phone Number on Android Mobile

Block Phone Number AndroidHow many times are you in a situation where you would like to block a phone number or not accept any call from any specific mobile phone? May be you would like to block a telemarketers number or a friends number for a selected time frame to ensure that you don’t get disturbed during your important meeting. Here is a quick tip using which you can easily black list any contact from your phone for a selected period of time.

To get started you need to tap on the contacts application and then select the specific contact which you would like to block. Next you will have to tap on the ‘Menu’ key followed by tapping on the ‘More’ option. Here you will be shown with a option called ‘Add to black list’ which would instantly block this number. Next time that specific contact tries to contact you, they would not be able to connect with you but if you try to contact that person you would be able to do that.

If you would like to unblock that number from the black list then you need to go to the same options again and select the option of ‘Remove from black list’. As simple as that, this tip is going to help you at special events. We have also created a small video on how to do this job.

Do comment below if you have any queries about this specific tip. Do make a note that this video was made using the Samsung Galaxy S2 while these options may or may not be available for your android mobile.

It happened to me. In fact, there is one more setting to enable if you want this option to work. You’ll have to go to Settings > Call > Call rejection > Auto reject mode, and finally set “Only black list”

How can see if the contact I blocked or added to black list has tried to call me? Will it show under missed calls? I did a test and doesn’t show anywhere. I know how to block and how to add a contact to the black. For those that dont know the difference: a blocked contact will go straigt to your voicemail when calling you; black list the contact will get a sound as if the line went dead.

Forget all this I’m gonna get the Police to block their number. I’ve been messing around for ages trying to block some persons number and an Indian woman from Vodafone tells me I have to download something from the Android marketplace, the thing is Android phones also have a tendency to develop a problem with their WiFi as well so I can’t do f*** all! I’m never getting an Android phone again, they are hopeless.
