Boeing Black Android Phone with Security Apps Aimed for Govt Agencies

Earlier in 2012 we saw a Boeing Phone was released and claimed to be a High end secure Android device that came up with Defence apps, now the company has unveiled another 4.3 inch, dual SIM device that deletes all the data when tampered with and makes the device inoperable.

This Boeing Black Android Phone has been designed with the needs of the “US defence and security communities” in mind, and attempts to satisfy security requirements not met by current devices, according to Boeing and while filing with the US Federal Communications Commission it also stated that The Boeing Black phone is manufactured as a sealed device both with epoxy around the casing and with screws, the heads of which are covered with tamper proof covering to identify attempted disassembly.

This tamper proof device from Boeing is mainly aimed for the government agencies and that needs to keep all the data secured without being leaked or tampered. This device will be running on Android OS and is a powered by a 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A9 based processor and will also come with enhanced software security policy configuration. The device has a 4.3 inch qHD display with 540 x 960 pixel resolution. This device also comes with dual SIM support and has the connectivity of Bluetooth v2.1, Wi-Fi and also has GSM, WCDMA and LTE connectivity.

The device main security features are embedded FIPS 140-2 key storage, hardware inhibits, trusted modules and configurable OS security policies. The phone supports disk encryption, hardware root of trust and crypto engine, and secure boot. Boeing’s official website says the phone can be configured to connect with biometric sensors or satellites and other attachments can extend battery life or use solar power to run the Smart phone.

According to the contract submitted to the FCC, the Boeing Black Phone will be sold directly by Boeing or its agents and has not provided any price details or date by which the phone might be widely available, but said it has begun offering the phone to potential customers. This type of Smart phones will definitely bring revolutions in the Communication field and keep all the data private and secured.
