How to Change Boot Screen Logo in Moto X Android Phone without Rooting – Guide

If you have been using Moto X Android smartphone from quite a while and wondering on how to change the boot screen, then we will guide you through the rest of this article to do the same. Procedure to Change Boot Screen Image in Moto X Android Phone:

  • For all those users who wanted to know in depth on where exactly this Boot Image is stored in the device, its stored in the location;

/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/clogo

  • Now, you need to install the ADB in your computer so that the below mentioned commands can customize the boot screen image in your device. So, after installing the ADB and configuring the same from android.com, connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and enter the below mentioned command for creating the backup of the existing boot screen image;

adb shell su -c “dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/clogo of=/sdcard/clogo.bmp”

  • Now to de-customize, you need to enter the below mentioned command;

adb reboot bootloader

fastboot erase clogo

  • To setup a new boot screen image / logo, you need to first make sure that that particular image is in the .bmp format. After creating the .bmp file, place the same in the Platforms folder of ADB to execute the below mentioned command in command prompt;

fastboot flash clogo <filename>.bmp
