Coolpad had earlier launched the Dazen brand of smartphones Dazen 1 and Dazen X7 in India. Today, the company has officially launched a new smartphone called ‘Coolpad Note 3’ in India. It is the same smartphone that was launched in China as ‘Coolpad Dazen Note 3‘ with slight changes in specifications. The reason behind the name change is that the both the companies have parted away from the joint venture and the Dazen brand of smartphones will be no more. Dr. Luo Zhongsheng, VP of Coolpad said, Coolpad has sold more than 40 million smartphones in 2014 with over 3 billion in revenues. The company is also looking to set up an R&D team in India. As of now the company has a team of 50 members in India.
This plastic built device offers a fingerprint scanner along with other amazing specifications and is priced aggresively at Rs. 8,999. Coolpad Note 3 is the only smartphone to come equipped with the fingerprint scanner at this price range.
Coming to the specifications, the Note 3 sports a 5.5-inch HD (1280×720) IPS display with very thin bezels. It is powered by 64-bit MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz coupled with Mali T720 GPU and 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM. It also has a 16GB of internal storage with microSD card expansion upto 64GB.
It has dual SIM dual standby support and includes a 3,000mAh lithium-ion polymer battery. There is a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual LED flash, a 5MP front camera is also included for better selfies. The fingerprint scanner on this device is placed below the rear camera. It can unlock the device in just 0.5 seconds. The Note 3 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
It supports 4G LTE on this device and comes with other basic connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Display, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB 2.0. The device will be available in the colors – White, Pink, Blue, Green, and Yellow. It measures 151 x 77 x 9.3 mm and will be available exclusively via Amazon India.
