Cubot, a lesser known Chinese smartphone maker, is known for launching good looking smartphones at affordable prices. Now, the company has officially announced yet another smartphone with a beautiful design called as Cubot S550 in China.The smartphone feels premium in hand as it features metal frame around the sides and also sports a glass back panel.
Coming to its specifications, the Cubot S550 sports a 5.5-inch (720×1280 pixels) HD display offering a pixel density of 320ppi and 2.5D arc glass on top of it. Under the hood, it comes equipped with the MediaTek MT6735 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with Mali 400 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The device features hybrid sim slot that lets you use microSD card instead of the second sim.
The smartphone comes with 16GB of internal storage and can be further expanded via a microSD card slot. On the camera cordon, the device sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front-facing camera for video calling and crisp selfie images. It supports dual sim dual standby and includes standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB port 2.0 with OTG support.
The S550 sports a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear side for enhanced security. The handset comes backed by a 3000mAh battery that is rated to last easily for an entire day on mixed usage and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The smartphone is very slim as it measures just 7mm at its thickest and will come in Black and White color variants. The company does not yet reveal the price of the Cubot S550, but we can expect it to cost around $170. Stay tuned for more updates about the official launch and pricing of the device.
