Galaxy Nexus 4G LTE – Steps to Root & Install Custom Recovery Image

Please note that before going forward, you need to ensure that you know the exact ADB as well as fast boot commands, though we will provide all the details. Please be informed that rooting and applying the custom recovery image will be requiring the phone to be rooted and once the phone gets rooted, the warranty will get void.

There are some quick pre requisites which you need to follow which are mentioned below.

Quick Pre Requisites:

  • Backup all the data present in your phone by following the below tips so that just in case if you face any issues then you can restore the backup.

Notes – Backup in the mail so that you can then restore manually
SMS Messages – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts Stored in Phone Memory – Sync with the Gmail application,
Videos, Images, Videos & Files etc.– Copy to internal / External SD Card,
Internet & MMS Settings – Backup all the settings from “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

  • Phone should be at least left with 60% of battery charge so as to ensure that it doesn’t get turned Off in the process of firmware update. Disable all the Security Suites, Firewall tools and also the PC Suite as these tools tend to interrupt the process of firmware update. Enable the USB Debugging from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging” from the below image.

Last but not the least ensure hat you have Unlocked the Boot loader of NEXUS S 4G LTE.
