Update Oct 3, 2015: The Gionee Elife E8, which is announced in China four months ago, is now finally gearing up to launch in India. The new flagship smartphone comes with a massive 6-inch 2K screen and also comes with one of the highest resolution cameras on an Android phone. As per our trusted sources, the device will officially launch in India on October 8th.
Today, Gionee also sent out media invites for an October 8 event. The invite reads, ‘Block your date for some GR8 news. A new phone launch and a big entry into e-commerce’. It is not only the Elife E8 that is expected to be the talking point, but also the fact that Gionee India could start selling its smartphones online.
Earlier Jun 10, 2015: Today, Gionee has officially launched its new flagship Elife E8 in Beijing.
The Elife E8 features a 6-inch, 1440 x 2560 resolution Display. It is powered Mediatek Helio X10 chipset with an octa-core processor clocked at up 2GHz, and a PowerVR 6200 GPU coupled with 3GB of RAM.The smartphone has internal memory of 64GB.
On the camera front, it features the 24MP rear camera takes 4K video, and there is an 8MP camera on the front. The lens comes with OIS, a 6P lens, a sapphire glass lens cover and a true tone flash. The camera apps takes just 0.8s to launch and there’s phase detection autofocus which Gionee claims focuses in 0.08s to 0.2s.
There’s optical image stabilization which is able to correct for shakes up to 1.5-degrees in angle. The smartphone will also offer dual Tone LED flash, lossless zoom, and 4K video recording.
A fingerprint scanner is on the back of the unit, which is powered by a 3520mAh battery. The smartphone is 9.6mm thick. It runs on Amigo 3.1 based on Android 5.1.
Earlier: Gionee Elife E8 announced in Romania as the Allview X2 Xtreme
The “Allview” company from Eastern Europe, Romania, who work with Chinese brands like Gionee, has launched the X2 Xtreme smartphone. This device is the rebranded version of the yet to be launch Gionee Elife E8.
The X2 Xtreme features a 6-inch, 1440 x 2560 resolution display. It is powered by the 64-bit MediaTek MT6795 SoC featuring a true octa core 2GHz CPU with the IMG G620 GPU coupled with 3GB of RAM.
The smartphone has internal memory of 64GB. On the camera front, it features the 23MP rear camera takes 4K video, and there is an 8MP camera on the front A fingerprint scanner is on back of the unit, which is powered by a 3500mAh battery. The Allview X2 Xtreme is 9.6mm thick and has Android 5.0 pre-installed.
In Romania, customers will be able to buy the Allview X2 Xtreme up for $554. The launch date is also not listed, but the phone is said to be shipping in the beginning of August with a delivery date of August 15th. Gionee is expected to unveil the Elife E8 on June 10.

A new live image of the Gionee Elife E8 handset has now emerged today. In the image, you can clearly see the micro SD card slot at the back of the phone. It is interesting to note that the MicroSD card slot was missing in the Elife E7 smartphone. The device will be launched on June 10th.

Gionee Elife E8 is expected to feature a 6-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. It will be equipped with a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6795 processor inside, along with a PowerVR G6200 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM. The phablet will also come with 32GB of internal memory, but there’s no mention of microSD card slot for storage expansion yet.
The high-end smartphone will have a 23-megapixel camera that can shoot 100MP resolution images. The Elife E8 will also feature a 8-megapixel camera in the front for great selfies.

The Gionee Elife E8 has been spotted in the latest round of new leaks seen online. An image of the phone alongside the sleek Elife S7 was posted online. As seen from the picture, the Elife E8 comes with metallic body and has a fingerprint sensor right below the camera.
The Gionee Elife E8 is expected to feature 23MP camera at the back that can shoot images of up to 100MP via software enhancements, in addition to lossless zoom shots just like the Nokia Lumia 1020. It will feature a 6” QHD AMOLED touchscreen display, 3GB RAM, 32GB of internal memory, a 3,250 mAh battery, and MediaTek’s MT6795 SoC with octa-core CPU, all running on Android 5.0 Lollipop with Gionee’s very own Amigo OS.

Today a new image of the upcoming Gionee Elife E8 leaked online. The all-metal device has a slim design with a dedicated camera shutter button, since it is rumoured to sport a 23MP camera and it can capture images up to 100MP along with 4K video recording. The curved shape on the back gives good grip to hold on to the device.
It will be powered by a 64-bit Mediatek MT6795 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHZ. At 9.6mm thickness and with the given specifications, the phone looks sturdy. The pricing and the availability of the smartphone are unknown. Gionee is expected to launch the Elife E8 in the month of June. We will update once there is any official information.

Earlier we have seen TENAA certification revealing many smartphone specs and now we have the details of an upcoming smartphone from Gionee. The Gionee Elife E8 is an upgraded version of 2013 flagship device Elife E7. Elife E8 comes with a huge 6-inch 2k display with 2560×1440 resolution where the Elife E7 had a 5.5-inch FullHD display with 1920×1080 resolution. At the bottom of the display are the three capacitive buttons.
We don’t have the name of the manufacturer but the device is powered by a 2.0GHz processor with 3GB of RAM. It supports 4G LTE and has 32GB of internal storage along with microSD card slot (up to 128GB). On the right side, we have the volume rocker and power button. The phone features an 8MP front-facing camera and a larger than 8MP rear camera with dual tone LED flash. Below the rear camera is a fingerprint scanner and a speaker grill at the bottom of the rear panel.
Elife E8 is powered by a larger 3520mAh battery, which makes the device feel heavier at 207 grams. It measures 164.0 x 82.3 x 9.6 (mm), at 9.6mm the device looks bulkier than the recently launched 5.5mm thin Gionee S7.
The device runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop based Amigo OS out of the box. There is no information on pricing or availability of the device. According to the information on TENAA, Elife E8 comes in silver colour but we may expect in few more colour during the launch. Gionee mentioned that the Elife E8 will be launched in the month of July.
