When you ask any users what do you use for video chat and video calls? The answer will be mostly Skype. The mobile phone has transformed into smartphones with capabilities including as that of any notebooks and PCs. The Skype is now available on Android OS and iOS from Apple.
With Skype on your Android phone you can make free Skype to Skype video calls over 3G or Wi-Fi network. You can also make cheaper calls and SMS to landlines or mobiles at the rates mentioned by Skype.

Don’t worry if your phone is not listed in the above list, try out going through Android Market and search out for Skype or else you can directly download it from here. We would be going to through installation, setup and using video call feature on Skype from the beginner level user.
Once you have installed this application on your mobile phone you need to tap it to bring it to the front. You would be then prompted to sign into your Skype account, if you have once then do it or else sign up for one.
General App Overview
You can also sync all of your contacts with the Skype contacts. You can ignore that or continue to sync. Once you are done with that, you will be then taken to the Skype main page and you will see four options which are Contacts, Recent, call phone and profile. The “Recent” option shows the recent call history or instant message history of the most recent done things. The “Call Phone” button will take you to the screen where in you can make physical calls and “Profile” option button will let your update your profile and status message.
Make a Call in Skype
With Skype you can make calls from Skype to Skype and Skype to Phone. The call from any Skype account to another Skype account is free supporting video and you maybe charged if you are in a limited data plan. The second option of Skype to Phone video calls are charged at various rates from the countries you are calling in and calling to.
To make a call you need to open the Skype Contact list. Now tap on the icon next to where it says “All Contacts” and choose Skype. Now choose the option of Skype Contact and then click on “Call”.
If you are looking for a Skype call to a Phone call then tap on the Call phone option. You can also go through your phone contacts, tap the contact and you get the list on what to do, select phone call. Also you can use the number pad to enter the phone number which you want to call. Make sure that you have provided the correct country code. The calls are billed per minute and you will be billed for all the calls made through Skype.
The video quality is very good and though Gmail is improving in video chat, Skype still provides better video calling features.
