Last time we saw on how you can install the latest firmware of Gingerbread 2.3.4 on your Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000. After many of the users expressed their wish to root the phone, we have decided to come out with an article on how you can root the device that’s Galaxy S GT I9000. Rooting basically unlocks the phone to a whole new possibilities as you not only get additional tools but also get the famous functionalities like the Superuser and also the other tools like Titanium Backup Pro which is nothing but a simple backup tool which used to backup contacts, messages etc with just a click of a button.
Please note that the procedure which is mentioned below is only applicable for the Galaxy S GT I9000 phones which are currently on the version of XXJVP 2.3.4. To check that on which version you are currently ON, you will just need to check the same. For checking on which firmware you are currently on, you will have to go to the Settings > About Phone > Firmware Version where you will find the version of Android OS where it will show 2.3.4 as shown in the below screen shot.
Note : You will have to reconfigure the APN settings after updating the firmware to access the data services and the Internet services as all the Internet APN settings will be reset. You will have to contact your Service provider to get more info on the APN Settings or alternatively you too can make a note of it. Not to forget also configure the MMS Settings or take down the MMS Settings as this too will need to be re configured after the rooting process.
