    I have twice attempted to root my HTC EVO 4G using unrevoked3. Both attempts failed after completely running unrevoked3 with the sentence: “Is your firmware too new?” The specs on my phone are as follows: Android version 2.3.3;
    Baseband Version 2.15.00.0808; Kernal version 2.6.35.10-g13578ee, htc-kernel@and18-2#1, Wed Jul 20 18:06:16 CST 2011; Build number 4.53.651.1 CL133994 release-keys; Software number 4.53.651.1; Browser version WebKit/533.1; PRI version 2.15_003.
    I have tried and failed to root using gingerbreak. Gingerbreak successfully loads and starts but never completes-even overnight (8 hours running). Superuser app also has never installed despite several attempts.
    I’d appreciate any help you can provide. I’m new at this rooting business so please don’t assume I know more than to properly load the unrevoked3 exploit and drivers (which was successful).
    Thanks for help in advance!
