How To Update Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 to Gingerbread XWKE2 2.3.3 Firmware


So, for all those who still didn’t receive the official update or are still waiting for the update to arrive, we will tell you and guide you on how you can effortlessly and simply update Galaxy S2 with the firmware XWKE2 in which all the above issues are solved. Please note that the procedure which we will be looking in the due course of the article is the manual method and the forced method. Not to worry, by following this procedure you will not lose the warranty or void the same as this is the official firmware download.

But only thing is that you will have to follow the procedure as mentioned below or else there is a high probability that you will for sure brick your phone. Kindly follow all the pre requisites and other below mentioned instructions which are stated below carefully or else you will mess up your phone completely. So, let’s proceed and see on how to update Galaxy S2 I9100 with the latest 2.3.3 stable release XWKE2.

    This got me for a bit “Next up, you will have to keep Odin window as it is opened, and then you will have to ensure that you put your phone into download mode. Now, switch off the phone and ensure that you take out any SD Card as well as SIM card if any and keep your phone in the switch off mode.” To me it seemed that you had to enter download mode first then switch off the phone lol. Took me a while to understand that you have to turn off the phone first then press the buttons and the phone starts up in Download mode. (I took a lot of screenshots of the home page instead hehe.

    The firmware update went well, only downside is that I lost a couple of unofficial apps and all the save game data from angry birds when I did the factory reset *2767*3855#

    My update failed at about 95% :( I have the Korean model GS2 and this is the second phone this has happened with.

    Now, when I turn the phone on it boots to a flashing screen with an icon of a computer that say “update” underneath. Any suggestions?

    when doing this process it worked fine and said successful. My only concern is i accidently ticked the re-partition box. What does this mean?? Everything looks to be working fine. Any advice would be great.

    i followed ur steps exactly and it failed, which was not the problem, but when i disconnected the cable and restarted my phone, it now shows an icon with a phone and a computer and a link that seems to be broken, and the OS doesn’t load, it stays there, is my phone BRICKED???????, any response from anyone would be helpful

      phone your network provider, and ask them to send you the internet settings. they will send u a text which u have to install and then it should work.

        i used kies upgrade, it damaged the software so i am unable to connect to wifii, bluetooth etc!!! i sent fone in to be fixed, now samsung say its my fault???? they have revoked the warranty!!! is this allowed?? anybody else have similar problem??? thanks!!!!

    Hello There.. I am successful with this update. Thanks. Now my bad i did not think of all my data being on the internal storage, i lost all of them..is there a way i can recover those pics,video etc? i tried Recova but it doesnt detect my phone on PC. I’m stuck…Hope u’ll help.

    Thank God. I followed your other thread where it stated how to hard reset. Tried plenty of time. At last got succeeded. Connected my Kies and it stated I have an update. I updated. My present version reads like this:

    Any idea why there is a different in baseband and build number?

    In my About phone section, the reading goes like this:

    Baseband Version I900XXKE7
    Kernel Version 2.6.35.7-I900XWKF3-CL276555
    Build Number Gingerbread.XWKF3

    Is it not correctly updated? Should I update using your firmware mentioned here?
    Why is there difference in Baseband version and Build number and Kernel version. Should this be all reflecting same as KE7?

    Please help.

    Should a re-format solve this?

    Just curious as to why there is different of version number in Baseband, Kernal and Build number? Should that not be all same? Please advice.

    I tried to update my phone but now nothing works. It shows a phone, a warning triangle and a computer. It doesnt matter if i take out the battery or restart it, the same screen reapears..

    HELP NEEDED.
