How To Update Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 to Gingerbread XWKE2 2.3.3 Firmware

So, as you can see that the Green colored bar will be shown which will mean that the firmware has been successfully flashed in your Galaxy S2 device. Since there is a cache memory of the previous firmware gets stored in the device, you will have to clear the same and which can be done by performing the full reset by dialing the short code *2767*3855# and then you will see that all the cache is cleared successfully. To check that version has been successfully updated or not you will have to type in the code as “*#1234#”.

Do, let us know if you encounter with any of the problems as we will ensure that all problems are solved. Please note that since you have updated your firmware, all the APN Settings will be cleared. So, to access all the data services / MMS / Internet, you will have to get the Internet settings from from your Service provider.

Anyone please help me here. Still not got resolved.

I tried flashing Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 to Gingerbread XWKE7 2.3.3 using http://androidadvices.com/how-to-update-samsung-galaxy-s-ii-i9100-to-gingerbread-xwke7-2-3-3-firmware/ link.

After done successfully, my About Phone reads like this:
Is it correct and is it updated correctly? Why is Baseband shows KE4 instead of KE7? :(

    I am so much confused.

    Android Version 2.3.3
Baseband Version I900XXKE4 (WHY IS THIS BEING DIFFERENT?)
    Kernel Version 2.6.35.7-I900XWKE7-CL215725
    Build Number Gingerbread.XWKE7

  10. Reply Benjamin August 31, 2011 at 9:40 pm

    Please help.

Should I follow the instruction in the below link and do a fresh re-flashing again?
    http://androidadvices.com/how-to-update-samsung-galaxy-s-ii-i9100-to-gingerbread-xwke7-2-3-3-firmware/

Just curious as to why there is different of version number in Baseband, Kernal and Build number? Should that not be all same? Please advice.

  11. Reply Benjamin August 31, 2011 at 9:35 pm

    Hi Neal,

In my About phone section, the reading goes like this:
    Android Version 2.3.3
    Baseband Version I900XXKE7
    Kernel Version 2.6.35.7-I900XWKF3-CL276555
    Build Number Gingerbread.XWKF3

Is it not correctly updated? Should I update using your firmware mentioned here?
Why is there difference in Baseband version and Build number and Kernel version. Should this be all reflecting same as KE7?

    Please help.

    Should a re-format solve this?

  12. Reply Benjamin August 31, 2011 at 9:07 pm

Thank God. I followed your other thread where it stated how to hard reset. Tried plenty of time. At last got succeeded. Connected my Kies and it stated I have an update. I updated. My present version reads like this:

Any idea why there is a different in baseband and build number?

    Android Version
    2.3.3
    Baseband Version
    I900XXKE7
    Kernel Version
    2.6.35.7-I900XWKF3-CL276555
    Build Number
    Gingerbread.XWKF3

My update failed at about 95% :( I have the Korean model GS2 and this is the second phone this has happened with.

    Here’s a link a screenshot of Odin: http://cid-712fbbe6062d5123.office.live.com/self.aspx/Errors/Odin%20Firmware%20Update%20Fail.jpg

Now, when I turn the phone on it boots to a flashing screen with an icon of a computer that say “update” underneath. Any suggestions?

    • Reply Adrian October 17, 2011 at 2:22 pm

And I have the same version of the Korean Samsung Galaxy S 2 m250s and update worked successfully. Remove the battery for 10 seconds and try again, but to start Odin, in the administrator mode right clicking on a “Run as Administrator”

  39. Reply hilton May 21, 2011 at 7:55 am

This got me for a bit “Next up, you will have to keep Odin window as it is opened, and then you will have to ensure that you put your phone into download mode. Now, switch off the phone and ensure that you take out any SD Card as well as SIM card if any and keep your phone in the switch off mode.” To me it seemed that you had to enter download mode first then switch off the phone lol. Took me a while to understand that you have to turn off the phone first then press the buttons and the phone starts up in Download mode. (I took a lot of screenshots of the home page instead hehe.

The firmware update went well, only downside is that I lost a couple of unofficial apps and all the save game data from angry birds when I did the factory reset *2767*3855#
