HTC has today launched yet another mid-ranged smartphone in its Desire series called HTC Desire 626 Dual SIM in India. The smartphone was first launched in China back in July last year, and it comes with completely different specifications and also supports only single SIM. The new HTC Desire 626 Dual SIM is priced at Rs. 14,990 and will be available for sale via all the major retailers across the country in coming weeks.
During the launch, Faisal Siddiqui, President, HTC South Asia, said, “Our customers are gradually looking for stylish 4G-LTE enabled smartphones with faster processors, network speeds, and outstanding battery life. They are creating and consuming rich video content and want greater freedom to personalise their smartphones. We know they love the flexibility that comes with expandable memory.” He further added, “At a remarkable price, the HTC Desire 626 Dual SIM delivers the distinctive features with an outstanding user experience in a sleek, chic, slim package.”
Regarding specifications, the HTC Desire 626 Dual SIM features a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display with 294ppi as pixel density, and Corning Gorilla Glass laid on top of it for protection. Under the hood, it comes powered by 64-bit MediaTek MT6752 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz clubbed with Mali-T720 GPU, when compared to earlier launched Desire 626 that is powered by Snapdragon 210 SoC. It supports dual sim dual standby and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based HTC Sense UI out of the box.
On the camera part, the smartphone sports a 13MP rear camera with BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture, LED flash and a 5MP front snapper for video calling and crisp selfie images. The camera features the best shot, smile shot, scene detection, HDR options and also supports 1080p video recording at 30fps. The device includes connectivity options like 4G-LTE/3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, NFC and microUSB 2.0 port.
It comes with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion. The design of the smartphone is almost similar to earlier launched Desire series smartphones and also features dual front-facing HTC BoomSound speakers with Dolby Audio technology for enhanced sound experience. The handset comes backed by a 2000mAh battery and surely lacks power as far as the battery capacity is concerned. The dimensions of the device measure 146.9 x 70.9 x 8.19 mm weighs around 135 grams and will come in Blue Lagoon and White Birch color variants.
