The rumored HTC Desire 8 Android phablet / smartphone has now got a confirmed announcement date, and the official announcement of this is going to be done on February 24, 2014, i.e. at the MWC 2014 event. There were a few specs leaked along with, and it was confirmed through a teaser that HTC is going to first sell this device in the Chinese market followed by the other markets. The specs include – 5.5-inch HD display, Snapdragon 400 processor – quad-core chipset clocking at 1.2 GHz and 1GB of RAM.
There would be a 13-megapixel rear shooter along with a 5-megapixel front one and there’s 8GB internal storage. One good news would be about the OS and UI, as the Desire 8 is said to be coming with the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS, and will have the HTC Sense 6.0 skin. The device might be coming in both Single-SIM and Dual-SIM variants, and there would be separate CDMA / LTE variants for the Chinese market.

HTC Desire 8 has been leaked on a Chinese website with its mid-range specifications. This HTC Desire 8 is a device from HTC with 5.5 inch screen and a 13 MP camera on its back. The device features similar design to its predecessors according to the photo leak.
The leak comes courtesy of Chinese website MyDrivers, details of the handset’s upcoming specs sheet have appeared alongside official looking HTC Desire 8 picture and Engadget also supported this claming it has received confirmation from some unnamed source.
The Chinese web site also revealed that the dual-SIM phone will be available in White, Red, Yellow, Orange and Cyan. Like its flagship HTC One, the Desire 8 is also expected to come with front facing stereo speakers and a 5-megapixel front facing camera and no hardware buttons or capcitive touch buttons, featuring the on-screen touch buttons like the rumored M8 that claims to be the next flagship of HTC.
This device will support dual SIM and 5.5 inch display with the resolution unknown and there is a 13 MP camera on its rear which will not have any Ultrapixel technology as we saw in the HTC One. The picture also conclude it will be at least a 3G variant and according to the screen shorts we got, they reveal that this device might be unveiled on 18th at an event in China. There are possibilities of this device unveiling at the MWC (Mobile World Congress) this year in Barcelona which will be starting from this 24th of Feb.
We have seen many high range Smart phones from HTC, but it failed to deliver more in its mid range segments, hope to see that HTC concentrates more on its mid range customers also.
