With an exclusive move from a developer after mere few days of releasing of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich SDK, the users of HTC Desire Z / G2 can now power their phone with the latest Android’s version which is Ice Cream Sandwich. This is the first ever port which is still in the Alpha builds which is doing the rounds. Pre Requisites to apply Ice Cream Sandwich on HTC Desire Z / G2 Android Phone:
- In the due course of porting Ice Cream Sandwich on HTC desire Z G2, the data in the phone may get lost, so it’s very important to create a backup of the same. So, for your simplicity we have mentioned below some of the list of things which you need to backup.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log – Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
- Once done with the backup, you now need to proceed to the charging of the phone and need to ensure that at least it’s charged to the minimum of 50%.
- Now, ensure that you have enabled the USB Debugging option in your phone. You can enable the USB Debugging from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging” and then ensure that the USB Debugging is ticked in the option.
- You also needs to ensure that you have rooted your HTC Desire Z G2 Phone.
