Update: The HTC Desire X is officially launched and is now available in the market for sale. In India, the pricing is Rs. 19,799 and the actual MRP is around Rs. 23,499 but the direct price from any retailer is around Rs. 3500 lesser.
The specifications that are to be noted, include the 4-inch capacitive touch screen, the 5MP autofocus camera, the dual-core 1GHz processor and it is one of the direct competitors to the HTC One V, a product from the same manufacturer.
Samsung and Sony has a decent opening day at IFA 2012 Berlin show with first Samsung Galaxy series camera, Samsung Galaxy Note 2, several Windows 8 based phone & tablets by both Asus and Samsung and Sony with flagship Xperia Tablet S, Xperia T, Xperia V and Xperia J smart phone. The opening day has certainly raised the bar of expectations from several companies like HTC, LG present at the trade show.
Announcing the fresh news from the HTC Corporation, here comes the super phone called Desire X. Continuing the Desire series of smart phones, Desire X is the first phone announced by HTC a budget friendly phone. We might see this device appears lost of the world of power devices around and guess this device won’t be much priced. The specifications of Desire X have been leaked for a while now and several blogs have published the unofficial photos of what the device would look alike. Interestingly these rumours were 95 % exact as there aren’t any shocks or surprises.

HTC Desire X is spotted with 4 inches Super LCD WVGA display screen providing a maximum resolution of 800 x 480 pixels clearly indicating that this is not the greatest panel ever. Its powered with 1 Ghz dual core Qualcomm MSM8255 processor and features 768 MB RAM which is a decent hardware configuration but to the best or on top of all devices.
This is with modest 1650 mAH battery providing the nominal battery life to the device and the good thing about this device is that it has corrected error of non-removable battery as that found in the One Series of smart phones introduced until now. The device board 4 GB of internal memory storage capacity which could be hassle in times but the problem is solved by two solutions, one is that it includes micro SD card slot by which you can add 32 GB micro SD card support and device supports 25 GB of free online Dropbox storage capacity to provide any inconvenience.
Desire X runs on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box with the HTC’s own Sense user interface Sense 4.0. As usual stuff with HTC that this device comes with Beats Audio sound enhancements although no Beats audio headsets are supplied with the package. It includes 5 mega pixel camera on the rear side with auto focus, HDR capture, continuous shooting mode and LED flash. The camera looks to be just moderate when considered with image capabilities and video recording capabilities.

Although HTC press release hasn’t said anything about the price just like other press event does, but company’s officials has confirmed that device will go on for sale in Asian countries and selected European countries starting next month. Since this is powered with dual core, it will be priced slightly higher than the One V smart phone roughly at $ $ 320 or $ 350.
