HTC One in European Countries getting Android 4.3 & Sense 5.5 Update with 25GB Drive Storage

HTC One Software Update 4.3The HTC One Android smartphone in the European countries is receiving the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS update along with the update to the user interface, to the Sense 5.5 version and this brings quite a few changes. It’s the Software update version 3.62.401.1 which is of size 675.48 MB and it brings in the following changes to both the OS and the interface, and that for sure would be making the performance of the smartphone better.

Improvements to BlinkFeed
The special BlinkFeed feature, just like the Flipboard app has got a few changes which include:

  • Accessing recommended news from your social network
  • Additional global news sources
  • Save articles to read them later or when offline
  • Creating custom feeds from news media, Twitter and Youtube

Improvements to Music App

  • Updated Interface
  • Embedded music channel with new scenes

Improvements to Sense TV

  • Updated interface
  • Adding My Picks Page to improve the program management

Apart from these, HTC is offering 25GB of free storage through Google Drive, which the users can get by going to the Drive app in their phone after the update. Earlier the same storage was given along with the HTC One Max phablet which was recently launched. This drive space would be available for 2 years.

The changes made in the interface in this OS update is quite different from the one that was sent to the HTC One smartphones in the US and Taiwan. Apart from the European devices, it is the Asian devices too which would get the update with the Android version 4.2 and Sense 5.0 going to Android 4.3 and Sense 5.5.

It is an Over-the-air update which comes directly to the device when it is connected to the Internet, and if it hasn’t already, go to the About section in Settings where there is an option to check for the software update manually.
