HTC Hero G2 Touch – Steps to Install Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread Firmware

Procedure to update HTC Hero G2 Touch Phone with Gingerbread 2.3.5 version:

  • First up you need to download the Gingerbread 2.3.5 Custom ROM to your computer. Once the zip file is downloaded in your computer you need to connect the phone with the computer using the USB cable which you got at the time of purchase and then copy this downloaded zip file in your phone.
  • After this you will have to ensure that the USB Debugging is enabled in the phone. The USB Debugging can be turned On from the path Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging. Ensure that the USB Debugging option is ticked as shown in the below screen capture.

  • Now, after this you need to turn Off the phone so that you can then enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by holding down Home and Power button till you see the recovery image is seen in your phone.

  • Now, after this you need to select the option of selecting the option of “Backup / Restore” and then you need to take the backup of the ROM so that you can then restore the same just in case if you face any issues with the new custom ROM.

Now, after this you will need to select the option of Flash.zip and then you will have to choose the ROM file which you have saved on the SD card.

    my htc didnt go to recovery mode..htc logo and a red triangle stuck out on screen…so plz suggest me how to go to recovery mood,my phone is htc hero g2 touch..
