According to latest reports, Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC has delayed sales of its flagship One M9 device in its home market that was originally scheduled to begin Monday due to the software upgrade. Customers who pre-ordered the device were told by text message that the launch would be delayed until March 20.
HTC confirmed the delay in an e-mail reply to a news agency, saying that it is working on providing “the latest version of software” for the One M9 and will make the phone available in Taiwan “as soon as possible”.
HTC has officially unveiled the HTC One M9 Smartphone at MWC 2015. The One M9 features a 5″ display with 1080p resolution. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipsets, a 64 bit SOC, with an Octa core 2.0 GHz CPU and Adreno 430 GPU, 3GB of RAM. The phone comes with 2840 mAh battery.
On camera front, it feature a 20.7MP rear camera and 4MP UltraPixel rear camera with a f/2.0 ultra-wide lens and enhanced low-light performance. It runs on Android 5.0.2 lollipop with Sense 7 UI on top. Sense 7.0 comes with themes you can create with one click and a personalised app launcher widget as well as new lock screen
Last week, HTC confirmed that the M9 will be available in two storage options, 32GB and 64GB, priced around $690 and $750 respectively. These prices apply to Taiwan only and are for unlocked and off-contract units.It has not been announced as yet if the 32GB and 64GB models of this handset will be available in all markets across the globe or whether HTC is keeping the latter exclusive to Taiwan only.
