HTC One E8 EYE Spotted on Zauba – Details

A yet unannounced HTC One (E8 Eye) has appeared on a shipping document being imported from Taiwan to India. The HTC One E8, a more affordable plastic version of the M8 Eye, has not been officially announced. The listing revealed that HTC One E8 comes in two colors: Silver and Gray. Several hundred units of the smartphone landed in India with a per unit value of Rs 27,725. The import/ export prices are only indicative as usually they do not include duties or taxes.

It’s not clear yet that how Eye version of the One E8 will differ from the original device. It’s certainly expected that it will be running the new Eye Experience selfie-enhancing software out of the box.

From the specs point of view, One E8 Eye could have the same hardware specifications as the One E8 smartphone, like a quad-core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB space of internal storage. HTC China has listed One M8 Eye on its site for a 15 October release. It’s the same HTC One M8, but it comes with a 13MP camera in place of Ultra Pixel camera.

HTC One E8 EYE Apart from the HTC One E8 Eye, the One Eye M8 has also been spotted listed on Zauba. As per the import data website, HTC India has imported over 9000 units of One (M8 Eye) and over 1100 units of One (E8 Eye) in the last one week, indicating at an impending release. Some of the features that were listed about the One M8 Eye include 5-inch screen and Grey and silver colour variants. The listing also tips that these smart phones will be announced in both single and dual-SIM variants. The HTC One M8 Eye was up for pre-order at CNY 3,999 (approximately Rs. 40,000).

Last week the HTC had a ‘Double Exposure’ event in which they launched the selfie-focused Desire Eye smartphone alongside a new GoPro-like camera dubbed RE. The company also revealed a number of new features such as the HTC Eye Experience and an all new Zoe, which is a collaborative video editing community. As of now there is no word on the official release date and pricing yet, we expect HTC India to announce it officially in the next week or two.
