As soon as the Google announced the Android M, HTC confirmed that One M9 and One M9Plus will be updated to the latest Android version. Jeff Gordon, Senior Global Online Communications Manager of HTC made it public through Twitter.

Even though HTC listed only two devices, we can expect the latest Android M update for HTC One M8, One E9+ and other upcoming smartphones from HTC. Android M comes with a lot of improvements and customizations. The HTC One M9 and One M9Plus are launched earlier this year and run on Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box.

HTC One M9 comes with 5-inch FullHD (1080×1920) Super LCD3 display with a pixel density of 441ppi and has a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. On the other hand, the HTC One M9Plus sports a 5.2-inch QuadHD (1400×2560) Super LCD3 display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection on top it. The One M9Plus is powered by MediaTek MT6795T octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz coupled with PowerVR G6200 GPU and 3GB of RAM. Both the devices have 32GB of internal storage along with microSD card slot to support up to 128GB. But the One M9Plus has the fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button below the display.
