HTC Rolls Out Android 7.0 Nougat Update for HTC One A9 in Europe

At the time of HTC One A9 launch in 2015, the company promised to release latest Android updates in just 15 days after hitting the Nexus devices. But with the Android 7.0 Nougat update, the company missed the 15 days deadline to release the latest Android update for the HTC One A9. Earlier this year, the One A9 devices in the U.S started getting the latest Android updates, and now in March, the company started rolling out OTA update for the European One A9 devices.

As the roll-out started now, it will take few days to pop-up on your devices. If there is no notification about the Android 7.0 Nougat based HTC Sense UI update, the user can manually check by opening Settings > About Device > System Updates. Before updating to the latest Android OS, the device needs to at least 50% of battery life. With the Nougat update, the device now includes new features like split screen multitasking, new animations, rich notification, and few other changes.

It comes with a 5-inch AMOLED display wth Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 405 GPU. As it packs 3GB of RAM, we expect it to smoothly handle the multitasking. The device comes with 32GB of onboard storage that can be further expanded using the MicroSD card slot. In the camera department, there is a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). For selfies, there is a 4MP ultra pixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture.

Both the cameras can record video only up to Full HD resolution at 30fps.However, the 2,150mAh non-removable battery is quite small considering the huge battery capacities in the newly launched smartphones. It also comes with active noise cancellation mic for better call quality. tHe physical home button on the front also comes integrated with a fingerprint sensor. It comes with a metal built body and weighs 143 grams.
