HTC Sensation & Sensation XE gets Official ICS Update with HTC Sense 3.6
With the introduction of Samsung Galaxy Nexus, it introduced the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system update which brings a host of new features and other capabilities. Everyone loved to have this update on their mobile phone and it has been now more than three months since users are awaiting the Android 4.0 update. You can’t blame Google team for such a long wait the Android 4.0 adoption and you can’t even blame the manufacturers, it’s the rigorous testing that manufacturers go around to provide bug free update.
The long waited Android 4.0 update for many devices is now started rolling out with Samsung Galaxy S II updates rolling out from tomorrow. But before that HTC have come out with quick update to their HTC Sensation and Sensation XE smartphone which was released today. The update to HTC Sensation based smartphone come along with the introduction of Sense 3.6 user interface. This update as of now it’s available for the users in Germany.
The Android 4.0 update file for Sensation and Sensation XE is of total size 283 Mb and we recommended users to go through this update via using your Wi Fi connection as if you choose to update with your data plans then it will cost you might higher and Wi Fi download rate is much better than the 3G speed.
Many users have received the notifications on their mobile phone about this update but if you have not received any such update then not to worry as you too can update your phone to Android 4.0 and enjoy the best features. If you are among those users who haven’t received any update message then they can go through Settings > About Phone and then click on Software update, finally click on Check Now button to check whether this update is available on your phone or not.

This update as of now is for Germany. It has started rolling over in Europe. That’s the update that we have as of now.
ICS update for HTC Sensation is not yet in Germany…at least wasn’t 2 seconds ago…

I’m also have a same problem when i upgraded my HTC sensation XE with Android 4.0.3. My Wifi stop working, and i spend 2 days working on this issue without successful. I end by do a reset factory and without solving this problem

Have you fixed this. I upgraded and my wifi stopped working. Tried the factory reset and still back to square one. Can someone send the info to fix this.

I have HTC Sensation and the ICS update is available. Can download via 3G but it fails to install. it says “an error occured while installing software updates. You may check for software updates…”

Okay so I got the update on my mobile, but I’m not willing to upgrade now, I had that notification for updating in the notifications bar. But now I canceled by mistake, and I don’t know how to get the update back, it’s not available anymore. Any help?

this update royally messed up my phone. suggest you dont do the upgrade. my 4g phone now runs at 2g!!!!! major problems with my text messages, and contacts not syncing, syncing wont load properly, contacts in the message area are shown as phone numbers… the names of the contacts are not shown. my T9 texting dissappeared (i am pissed). now its keyboard typing only…. I AM A T9 TEXTER I WANT MY OLD PROGRAM BACK BEFORE THE STUPID UPDATE. oh and my incall volume is too quiet, and i cant make folders anymore on my phonescreen to group my most-used apps inside. and who knows whatelse…. THIS IS HELL… HOW DO I GET BACK
