The Sony Xperia S has 4.3 inches screen size as that of Galaxy S II but this comes with LED backlit LCD display providing better viewing angles. Again it’s a top class specification that Sony can come up with this latest flagship model thanks to Mobile BRAVIA Engine. While on the other side HTC One X comes out with 4.7 inches Super IPS LCD 2 display providing 1280 x 720 pixel display resolution. Xperia S provides better resolution with 1280 x 720 pixel display (same as that of HTC One X) and pixel density wise it holds the upper hand than HTC One X.
HTC One X though it has 312 ppi pixel density is way back than the Xperia S with 342 ppi which is also higher than the latest iPhone 4S which is known for the display screen.

Sony Xperia S is with 12 mega pixel camera providing a maximum resolution of 4000 x 3000 pixel along with the features of autofocus and LED flash. The HTC One X comes with 8 mega pixel camera along with BSI sensor. One X phone on the other side includes dedicated camera button and the HTC Image Sense allows users to capture a photo while you are recording a video, continuous shooting mode to capture photos with multiple snapshots, auto flash smart and high quality slow motion video capture with playback. Both the phones have 1.3 mega pixel front facing camera which can be used for video calls and face to face voice chat. Other features such as geo tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, 3D sweep panorama and image stabilization are commonly available in both the phones mentioned here. Xperia S comes with a physical shutter key and Sony talks about this phone that it can capture pictures within 1.5 seconds from standby mode which is quite faster than any other phone or digital cameras. Both the phones are capable of recording HD videos at 1080p with playback.
Certainly in comparison HTC One X is very good with good features and on other side Xperia S with 12 mega pixel camera provides amazing photos and video captures.
HTC One X – Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
Sony Xperia S – Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread, Android 4.0 Update Later
The distinguish between the two phones comes with what kind of operating system is right now present on both the phones. Xperia S with 1750 mAh battery provides a continuous music playback time of around 25 hours and talk time of atleast 8 hours, standby time of 420 hours minimum. When going through the complete web browsing on full charge, it outcomes with 5.30 hours continuous operation.
While on the other side HTC One X comes with 1800 mAh battery with unspecified battery backup during several operation. But we are sure that this would give you enough power almost nearly equal to Xperia S or maybe more.
Xperia S goes with Mobile BRAVIA Engine which is something we are hearing for least number of times. The HTC One X also introduces the new HTC Sense 4 user interface which introduces Image Sense allowing you to take great photos from your phone, authentic sound and various other features.
Xperia S comes out with 14.4 HSDPA connectivity and HSUPA provides 5.7 Mbps speed. On the other side HTC One X comes with HSDPA connectivity with 21 Mbps maximum speed and the 4G LTE version of the phone is expected to arrive in various countries like United States and United Kingdom.
Interesting both the smartphones come with Wi Fi Direct, DLNA share, Wi Fi internet access, Wi-Fi tethering, Bluetooth tethering. Sony goes with a micro HDMI connectivity and also has a dedicated TV launcher interface. Both the smartphones comes with NFC enabled. Xperia S lacks Bluetooth connectivity whereas HTC One X does has it.
Xperia S smartphone is the use of newer microSIM which is less common than that of Galaxy S II with traditional SIM card slot. Xperia S making use of NFC provides smart tags which are special tags can be kept at various locations like car, office, bed room and whenever you enter that particular zone your profile would be changed accordingly.
HTC One X on the other side comes with the Beats Audio technology which enhances the sound out put from the handset but unfortunately this phone doesn’t come with Beats headset which is a great disappointment to the users.
It’s already known that HTC One X wins in the race of processor, speed and performance with quad core processor but in comparison Sony Xperia S is also not bad in that area.
In the camera comparison, both have distinguish camera, HTC One X is superb HTC Image Sense with host of new features but Xperia S with 12 mega pixel is something we should talk about.
Android version right now makes a little difference but within few months Xperia S will also join the family of Android ICS phones.
Keeping all these aspects in mind, HTC One X is a superior device than Sony Xperia S.
