The U.S. based HTC One models that came under the different network providers, are soon going to receive the Android 4.3 update, which would be the last Android Jelly Bean update, as the next one would be Android 4.4 KitKat which is to be officially launched by Google very soon. A report from HTC Insider said that the US based HTC One models are soon going to get the 4.3 update, and there might be update for the HTC One S and the HTC Evo LTE version.
This would come as a good news for the HTC’s flagship device owners in the U.S. because there was no Android 4.2 update sent to these devices and that would be skipped, to directly send the Android 4.3 update, and this is probably going to be the same for the HTC Droid DNA too.
The HTC One in the U.S. is available through four service providers, i.e. T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and apart from these, there’s a developer version too, which is the unlocked one and none of these have got even the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update. Unlike the international version of the HTC One, there won’t be HTC Sense 5.5 and it would be the HTC Sense 5 coming along with the 4.3.
The good news is that once the HTC One Max is announced and launched, the HTC One and the Butterfly S international versions would see the Sense 5.5 and the Android 4.3 in it, and this indicates that the One Max is coming soon into the scene. What is clear is that the HTC One S and the HTC Evo LTE version on Sprint network won’t be getting the update.
We already know about the 4.3 update and the enhancements, updates that are coming in that version, but with the Sense 5.5 we can see some enhancements and additions to the HTC Zoe feature, and something in the home screen areas, along with the bug fixes. But we cannot be sure already because there’s no official word about it. The TouchWiz from Samsung is easy to use but becomes laggy because of no updates to the resources, but the Sense has been quite wonderful with the intuitive features, as well as the design.
So, wait for the HTC One Max announcement if you wanted to see the Android 4.3 update on your device, or if you are actually looking for an upgrade to a better device, as the T6 is coming very soon. There’s no need to panic if other devices around are getting the Android 4.2 update and then the 4.3, because HTC is skipping that version.
