    Apps don’t check for updates – only the Market does. There is no such setting for every app to switch it off.

      There are two types of update settings; global settings and independent application settings.
      There are very few apps which provide independent settings.
      if in any case youhave any app like that then you need to disable the update setting from tgat particular app aswell.
