How to Increase Volume on Android Mobile Phones

Android tipsIs your Android mobile phone not giving out maximum volume during the music playback? Or did you ever wanted to listen to the FM radio without your head phones?

Here is the quickest way of doing it and you need to have to make sure that you have the root access on your mobile phone.

ADB Shell Access

Gaining shell access on your android mobile phone using Android Adb can be useful and handy in many situations. There are many ways in which you can gain access to command prompt – telnet, terminal, windows command prompt and recover mode.

Here is one quick way to use the Windows CMD –

  1. Connect your mobile phone through USB on to your Windows computer and make sure you have loaded all the drivers of the mobile phone perfectly.
  2. You need to download the SDK and unzip to your computer.
  3. Open the command prompt in your computer (Press WinKey + R and then type CMD for users in Windows 7).
  4. Navigate to the SDK tools folder through the command prompt, generally its ………SDK\android-sdk-windows-1.5_r3\tools.
  5. Type ADB devices to see the phone connection and if no devices appear, means that you haven’t installed drivers perfectly and you need to do that.
  6. Once it’s done you would be connected to your phone through PC and can execute adb commands.

Increase Volume

Once you gain access to ADB then you need to follow the below steps to ensure you have increased the volume –

  1. Connect your phone to the computer using the USB.
  2. Open an adb shell session from your PC.
  3. Copy & Paste the below code line by line.
  4. Restart your phone.

mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
mkdir /sdcard/AudioBackUp
cd /system/etc/
busybox cp “AudioFilter.csv” /sdcard/AudioBackUp
busybox cp “AudioPara_TMUS.csv” /sdcard/AudioBackUp
busybox cp “AudioPara4.csv” /sdcard/AudioBackUp
busybox cp “AudioPreProcess.csv” /sdcard/AudioBackUp#mkdir /sdcard/tmp
cd /sdcard/tmp

busybox cp *.csv /system/etc

The server that had the files is offline now.
The person that had uploaded the files has closed the server.
Meybe even it could be possible the IPs that he gave were from his own pc.

Try an app. There are apps for this.

    Dear Sir

Once you wanted to give a instruction Be Clear without any ambiquitey. I can not follow anything after this- Navigate to the SDK tools folder through the command prompt, generally its ………SDK\android-sdk-windows-1.5_r3\tools.

    • Sujith Sam

      August 21, 2011 at 2:20 pm

      Navigate to …\platform-tools

      C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools

then type “adb devices” without ” ”

then it will show the devices attached to ur computer.(usb debugging must be ticked & driver s/w also must be installed)

      type “adb shell”
(then a $ symbol will appear
that is you are inside the phone’s terminal)

      $ su

this command gives you the root permission. (the phone will ask you for the have to give it “Super User Permission” application

rest of the commands are same. if you are not found the AudioPreProcess.csv & AudioPara4.csv while taking the backup, leave it.

Any way someone has some inside connections at Samsung US Cellular division ?

You enthusiastically stated in several articles that the Galaxy Z will turn out to be the poor man alternative to the Galaxy S2.

However 2-3 months have gone by and nobody seems to know it it will be ever sold in the US market.

    Pleae hep?

Hi – Must the # near the end of line 7 also NOT be copied?

    If so, line 7 should look like this : ……… busybox cp “AudioPreProcess.csv” /sdcard/AudioBackUp mkdir /sdcard/tmp ?

    • Yogesh Patel

      August 6, 2011 at 4:24 pm

The first character of every line ‘#’ should be removed. remaining other # should be present in the code.
