How to Install Default Android Home Launcher of KitKat 4.4 in any Android Phone – Guide

Android Kit Kat 4.4 might be just there for High End devices as of now, but for all those who wanted to install few of the native apps of Kit Kat 4.4 in your Android smartphone then you can very well do the same. We have been hearing reports about the new Android Home Launcher of KitKat 4.4 won’t  be available to other Android devices officially, but all thanks to the folks out there at XDA who has made it possible to install the native apps of Kit Kat 4.4 in most of the Android phones.

So, in the due course of this article we will be helping you to install the Android Home Launcher in your Android phone with the help of simple instructions. The best part is that it won’t require you to root the device which makes sure that your device is left with the standard warranty. Though, we haven’t tested this new home launcher in some Android devices, it should work on virtually all Android devices which are on Jellybean Android OS

Procedure to Install Android Home Launcher of KitKat 4.4 in your Android Device:

  • Connect your device to the computer wih the help of original USB cable and place the extracted folder in your device.
  • Disconnect the device, open the File Manager in your device to tap on placed folder in your device to tap on “PrebuiltGmsCore.apk”, “Velvet.apk” and then followed by the “GoogleHome.apk” file.
  • Now, just follow the on screen instructions for applying all the zip files in your device. Once all the 3 files are installed successfully, press the Home Button in your device to choose the Android Home of Jellybean 4.4 in your device.

    I m user of MMX A210(canvas4) user and after installing all three files in internal storage when follow the provided instruction than first two files ‘PrebuiltGmsCore.apk’ & ‘Velvet.apk’ display the message ‘not installed’ and third file ‘GoogleHome.apk’ is installed only. So this reasong system not work properly.

    So through this channel if you able to resolve the problem mentioned above than tell the process.

    Dear Sir,

    I am user of MMX Canvas 4(A210) and i download the all three files but as per user reactions nobody saying that they will successfully installed Kit-Kat 4. So if i user proper prcess & unfotunatly OS not run properly than tell than how can back on previouly installed OS 4.2.2.

    the launcher consumes lot of battery life
    at night the charging is 94 % and when i see in morning it is 42%

    Thanks guys. Installed all 3 files and the apps and all is well. Only the clock couldn’t unpack. … BTW… I am using SGH T-989 (stock).

    After reading all of these comments it sounds like it’s not really worth it. Plus how can we know that these file are clean? They probably are but this doesn’t sound like it’s worth the hassle right now

    HI. i can instal PrebuiltGmsCore.apk but the other 2 sayis “error parsing package” i have a dual core 1ghz tablet running android 4.0.4

    As instructed I installed all three files on my phone & pressed the home button. It is giving some msg. “Unfortunately, Google Search has stopped.”
