How to Install ICS Android 4.0.3 Theme in Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000

Galaxy S ICS New logoAfter the recent updates to Nexus S as well as Galaxy nexus, your favorite Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000 is just days away from getting the fully functional and working ICS Android 4.0.3 update, not officially though. But yes if you  are on the JVUJVZ Firmware version which we have covered on Android Advices then you have got a great news that you can now make your phone look like an ICS laden phone. This time we are not telling you to apply any sorts of custom ROM or buggy Custom ROMs but a theme which will change whole of your device’s framework to that of ICS one. So, what if you still need to wait for an ICS update, you can always make use of this theme till the actual ICS Android 4.0 Update arrives for Galaxy S GT I9000.

Yes you heard it right, most of the users ask us on what are the benefits of rooting and if it is necessary to root the device. The answer is yes, if you have got an Android and is the one who just want to make the most out of their Android as Android is the open source then you need to root so as to make use of custom roms, install firmware updates even before they are officially launched. So, in the similar lines today we will check out on how you can install ICE CREAM SANDWICH ANDROID 4.0.3 theme in your Galaxy S GT I9000. Thanks to zznh for making this brilliant theme.

Check on Which Firmware you are ON?

To check on which firmware, go to path “Applications > Settings > About Phone” where you will see version as JVU / JVZ. If you are on any of other firmwares, then you first need to update to any of these to apply this theme.

Note: Please note that you need to be on the Rooted Firmware of JVU / JVZ so as to install this ICS Android 4.0 theme in your Galaxy S.  Also, most importantly, this will only work on the phones which bear the model number as I9000 and is not for the devices such as I9000B / T etc. or even say I9003 etc. If you still continue to apply this in your phone then the device may even get bricked or dead.

Best Part: In the due course of this article no data loss or corruption will happen in your device and is safe to apply this theme. The only condition is that you need to follow each and every single mentioned instruction.

So, let’s proceed to the installation of this ICS flavored Android 4.0.3 theme.

Screen Captures of ICS Android 4.0.3 Theme for Galaxy S:

ICS 4.0.3 SGS 1 ICS 4.0.3 SGS 2 ICS 4.0.3 SGS 3 ICS 4.0.3 SGS 4 ICS 4.0.3 SGS 5 ICS 4.0.3 SGS 6 ICS 4.0.3 SGS 7 ICS 4.0.3 SGS 8 ICS 4.0.3 SGS 9

We are sure, you would like to apply this theme in your Galaxy S, to set the same head to the procedure in the next page.

    Hi Neal,

I installed the ICS theme after the flashing the zip file just as you’ve mentioned. Followed all the instructions to the T. But I lost the dialer.

So I restored back to the jvz using the file you’ve recommended. Rebooted it a few times. Still no dialer.

What should I do to get it back? Please advise!

Hey Neal, I have installed CM9 with the ICS 4.0.1. firm on my phone and now i am considering to update it to this. Is it wise to do it? Or should i wait till the stable version comes out? And can i do it, or must i downgrade the phone first to gingerbread again? Please let me know what you think about this!
