How to Install Resurrection Remix-N 5.8.0 Nougat based ROM on Galaxy Note Edge

Samsung launched the Galaxy Note Edge smartphone a couple of years back and this was more or less the company’s first implementation of the Edge display on a smartphone. It soon became very popular and was bought by a lot of people. However, just like any other smartphone, this has also become a comparatively old device now and with this also we are now facing issues with the software updates. The smartphone was running on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat when it was launched and now as we all know we are quite ahead in terms of the updates.

However one of the ways with which you can get the latest version of Android on this device is by flashing a custom ROM manually. As of now, since we don’t have an official wording from the company on any software update, this seems like the only option to get the latest version of Android running on your device. About the ROM

The Resurrection Remix ROM is based on CyanogenMod 14.1 which is now called LineageOS 14.1. The Resurrection Remix has a simple UI which is perfect for daily usage and it is also highly optimized. Some of the noteworthy features are that it has a transparent notification panel, a system UI tuner with the help of which you can tune the UI settings. It also has the CM Root inbuilt. This ROM also has SELinux Switch, Network traffic indicator, etc. as well. And just like the LineageOS, this one also has a full theme support. Do make a note that your device must be rooted and you must have a custom recovery software installed in order for this tutorial to be able to work for you. With that said, let’s now take a look at some of the pre-requisites that you would need for this installation.


  • The first is to make sure that you create a complete backup of your device. Since we will be using the custom recovery method, you will end up with a completely wiped device.
  • You also need to have the 6.0 Bootloader installed in order for this to be able to work.
  • Also make sure that you have at least 60-percent charge on your device so that you don’t end up exhausting the battery during the installation.
  • And lastly, be sure to install the files from the link given below that are necessary for the installation.

  1. Assuming that you have downloaded the files from the link given below, it is now time to begin the installation process.
  2. Once done, simply copy both the files to the external memory.
  3. After this turn off your phone and enter into the recovery mode.
  4. You can enter the recovery mode by pressing Volume Down + Power key at the same time.
  5. Once done, now you need to perform a full wipe before we begin the installation.
  6. After that, navigate to the file which you downloaded and copied earlier.
  7. You need to go back to the previous menu and then tap install to enter the installation.
  8. Once you navigate, simply select the file and swipe to install.
  9. After the installation is done, your device will reboot and this again reboot it into the recovery mode to install the Gapps
  10. The procedure to install Gapps is the same as above.
  11. Once the Gapps is done, you need to reboot your device and now you will see that your device has rebooted into the new firmware.
