How to Install Voodoo and Root Verizon Droid Charge

Verizon Droid Charge LogoDespite of a 4G LTE Supported phone, are you still on a thought that when your phone’s performance will be matching the blazing speeds of the network which is latched onto the Verizon’s blazing fast 4G LTE Service. Yes, you are correct, am talking of the Samsung Droid Charge handset which most of the users are still complaining that they are facing some lagging issues in the overall performance of the phone, so we have thought of bringing some smiles to the Droid Charge users as in the due course of this article we will see on how you can easily speed up your device which can be done by changing the existing file system of RFS to the EXT4.

Basically the RFS File system is the older file system which gives out slower performance compared to the performance which an EXT 4 can deliver. So, in this article we will not only see on how you can convert the existing file system of RFS to EXT4 but will also see on how you can infuse the Clockwork Mod Recovery too in the Samsung Droid Charge along with the most awaited and most wanted component that is the Voodoo Lag fix in your Samsung Droid Charge. So, let’s proceed and see on how you can do the same on your Droid Charge handset. Please note that this will void the warranty but will make your device faster than ever as the Quadrant Ranks will surely take a jump which will indicate that the device has become much more faster than before.

If you are worried about the warranty of your phone then you can also regain or reclaim the warranty, all you need to do is to again update Droid Charge with the Gingerbread 2.3 which we have seen in the last article on how you can do the same. But you will have to follow each and every single instruction carefully so as to facilitate proper flashing of the device. So, let’s proceed for the pre requisites along with the procedure to root, voodoo and also install the Clock Work Mod Recovery mod in your droid charge. Not to worry as the instructions are pretty much simple to understand and are neatly mentioned below. Please note that as of now this below procedure is only valid for all the Windows Based computers and not to Linux or Mac users. As soon as it comes for the MAC as well as the Linux users, we will surely mention the same here.

Note : You will have to reconfigure the APN settings after updating the firmware to access the data services and the Internet services as all the Internet APN settings will be reset. You will have to contact your Service provider to get more info on the APN Settings or alternatively you too can make a note of it. Not to forget also configure the MMS Settings or take down the MMS Settings as this too will need to be re configured after the rooting process.

OK So (I think anyway) I followed the steps as listed. but now all I get in the lower results window in Odin is a repeating
    over and over.
I waited about 15 minutes just to be sure things were not happening in the background. Then I unplugged the cable and removed and reinstalled the battery and tried to turn on. I get the SAMSUNG boot screen for about 20 sec then it flickers off for about 1 sec and repeats.

Any suggestions before I admit defeat?

Power off device. When you are ready to power back on, hold down the power button AND the home button AND the power up button. The Samsung name will come on and go away, when it comes back on release all buttons. You should be in recovery mode shortly after that, if not try again. When in recovery mode, use power buttons to toggle up or downin the menu to “flash rom” or something similar and use home button to select. You can always press power to escape. Hope this helps, good luck. 🙂
