Flipkart and the Indian mobile company Karbonn Mobiles have tied up to launch the new Karbonn A50s in India. This device will be the cheapest Android Smart phone in the market and is being priced at $47 (Rs. 2,790) only. This is an entry level smart phone with entry level specifications that includes a 3.5 inch display and Karbonn has been releasing bunch of devices in order to build up its name and compete against many big companies like Samsung, HTC, Sony, Nokia and many other.
The Karbonn A50s has a small 3.5 inch touch screen display with 480 x 320 pixel resolutions and will run the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean Operating System which is a bit disappointing since many entry level Smart phones like the Motorola Moto E, Micromax Unite 2, Lava Iris X1, Xolo A500S Lite, Spice Stellar 360, Lava 3G 415, Lava Iris 350M and few other smart phones.
The Karbonn A50s is powered with a dual core MediaTek processor clocking at 1.2 GHz coupled with a low 512 MB of RAM and the battery powering the device is at 1100 mAH. This is a dual SIM variant with dual standby supporting two GSM SIM’s. The camera on the rear of the device is at 2 MP with flash support and it is accompanied by a VGA (0.3 MP) front facing camera for selfies and video calling.
The Karbonn A50s has an on-board memory of 512 MB that can be further extended up to 32 GB via microSD card slot. The connectivity of the device includes Bluetooth v2.0, Wi-Fi, EDGE, GPRS, A-GPS and also has the normal 3.5 mm audio jack and FM radio. The dimensions of the device are at 61.8 x 115.7 x 10.5mm.
