Following the footstep of Micromax success, the competitor Karbonn have come up with their second tablet this year. Micromax in India have done so well in the tablet PC line up that they occupy 18 percent of the market share surpassing the Samsung or Apple tablet PC Sales results. This success has inspired Karbonn to come to launch few more tablet in coming months and first one to go in this series the Karbonn Agnee Tablet.
As India gears up for the festival season, Karbonn announces Agnee tablet right under Rs 10,000. This is been launched in partnership with Innominds and this is based on the Qualcomm reference design manufactured in India. It’s the first tablet with 3G made in India by Karbonn powered with Google’s open source Android OS.
Karbonn Agnee has decent specifications to put up fight against Micromax Funbook tablet in India. Anyways going through the specifications of the tablet it’s with 7 inches WXGA display screen providing a maximum resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. That with low pixel density and screen makeover is not one of the greatest but at the given price this is average. Its powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 processor with single core and again this is not the best specifications in town (we rate it as below average), thanks to 512 MB RAM providing sufficient execution speed. The tablet includes 4 GB internal memory storage capacity and it has a micro SD card slot supporting up to 32 GB via the MicroSD card.
Karbonn Agnee is with 3G video calls and voice call support providing a complete device, the function not found in 90 % of the tablets in the market. This is one of the pro features of Karbonn Agnee. Its pre-loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and it will be certainly updated with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean just like the Karbonn SmartTab 1 in the coming months but no word has been said by representative of the company during the launch. The tablet includes the
The good thing is that it will include the support of 22 Indian languages apart from English like Gujarati, Bengali, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Oriya, Konkani, Sindhi, Assamese, Kannada, Kashmiri, Manipuri, Nepali, Mizo, Rajasthani, Sanskrit, Tulu and Urdu. This will certainly inspire the local buyers who don’t have much grip on English. It comes preloaded with various apps such as Smart Browser, Karbonn Smart games, Facebook, TOI and ET apps.
The tablet is powered with 4,000 MAh battery just sufficient enough to runs the device for 4 hours of browsing time and this is one of the major cons of Agnee tablet. Karbonn representative during the launch said that company will launch another two tablets in the coming weeks.
