Karbonn has launched yet another Android tablet in the Indian market targeting the buyers who have an eye on the low-cost devices, and in the price range where there are quite a few tablet devices already competing well and getting a lot of buyers. The Smart Tab 7 Tornado is a 7 inch tablet device with the screen resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, and would have a neat and sharp design, while the processor is going to be a 1.2 GHz one with the Cortex-A9 core design.
Powered by the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, the Karbonn Smart Tab 7 Tornado has got quite a big list of pre installed applications apart from the Google based apps, and most of the new ones included are specifically for the Indian users, as they include the JustDial, Times of India, Economic Times, Saavn Music Streaming App, Ibibo, Hungama MyPlay and Angry Birds game app.
The Tornado tab has a 2 megapixel front facing camera which should be pretty enough for the video chatting, while the connectivity is limited to Wi-Fi but you can choose to have the 3G connection using the USB Dongle externally as the tablet doesn’t have a SIM option, and you can’t expect more than this at this pricing from Karbonn.
Though Karboon has listed that the Tornado tab provides a 1080p HD video display, we aren’t sure whether the quality would be really satisfactory when the actual screen resolution of the device is 800 x 480 pixels.
The Smart Tab has a battery capacity of 3700 mAh and that should be enough to provide a good 7 hours of Wi-Fi usage and web browsing, and the battery life with video and music playing would depend on many factors. Following are the specifications of the Karbonn Smart Tab 7 Tornado Android Tablet –

This seems to be a pretty decent tablet device with neat specifications, especially when the price set by Karbonn is Rs. 5499 in the Indian market, and you are getting quite a few other tablet devices for the similar price range, but the processor and battery do look better here. Earlier there was a very similar device by Karbonn which was priced at Rs. 6999 but recently the sales for the same have been stopped and we assume less sales as the reason, and the new pricing with a different name, an attempt by Karbonn to regain the value in the Android tablet market in India.
