Kobian Mercury MagiQ Phablet
Kobian today announced the launch of its first dual SIM powered phablet called Mercury magiQ. Kobian refers to this device as tablet but since this is sported with 5 inches touchscreen display we classify it as phablet.
Going through the specifications of the Kobian Mercury MagiQ it’s sported with 1 Ghz single core processor which might not be the fastest to compete with the Optimus Vu and Galaxy Note in the high range smart phone. The processor configurations indicate that it will be a mid-range smart phone and this is quite ominous by the price of magiQ. Sported with Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, this is a great addition to the device as it brings beautiful user interface and new features too.
Device is equipped with 512 MB of RAM and it features 4 GB of internal memory storage capacity. The memory can be further expanded using the micro SD card providing another 32 GB of storage. Just like Micromax A100 this device will also be a Dual SIM GSM + GSM capabilities. One of the splendid features of magiQ is that its with 12 mega pixel camera on the rear side allows you to picture at amazing quality and provides 1080p HD video recording as well. It also sports front facing camera as well which can be used for video calls and web conferences. Kobian claims that this device will last for 13 hours of talk time through one charge of battery and it just weights 140 grams. The device can be let for standby mode for around 15 days.
It’s equipped with Accelerometer, supports GPS, phone book, call record history, SMS, MMS, e-mail, push mail and IM, TF card slot, mini USB port and 3.5 mm audio jack. All these are on to 11.6 mm thick model. To wind it up Mercury MagiQ will be sported with following features –

- Dual SIM GSM + GSM support
- 512 MB RAM

Kobian Mercury MagiQ Price
Mercury MagiQ is priced at Rs 12,700 which is another Rs 2500 higher than the price of Micromax A100. Kobian provides one year warranty on this device but it would be hard for them to compete with Micromax as it has good brand awareness. With the price tag aattached to it, this might not be with the premium quality as that of Galaxy Note.
So this means that any one who has desire to keep 5 inches smart phone can now own one such by paying Rs 10,000 or Rs 12,700 to get Micromax A100 or Kobian Mercury MagiQ.
