Lava Iris X1 Launches in India with Android 4.4.2 KitKat for Rs. 7,999 – Details

Lava Iris X1 is the new smart phone from the company that has been introduced in the X series. As promised, Lava has come up and launched this smart phone for Rs. 7,999. This is the first device from Lava that will be coming with the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat Operating system out of the box and will be available online form Amazon, starting 27th of May and also from the retail stores across India.

The Lava Iris X1 will be sporting a n 4.5 inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) IPS touch screen display and is powered by a Broadcom quad core processor clocking at 1.2 GHz, coupled with 1 GB of RAM. This dual SIM device will be powered with an 1800 mAh battery on the back and will also have and 8 MP camera on the back with LED flash accompanied with an 2 MP camera on the front for video calling. Moreover the handset will have an on-board memory of 4 GB that can be further extended up to 32 GB via microSD card.

Coming to the connectivity of the device, it will include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0 BLE and micro-USB. It also has the OTG support for faster file transfer via USB drive. The device will be available in Black and White variants and will be coming with an intelligent Flip cover that is powered with hall sensor which will put the smart phone in to sleep mode automatically saving the unnecessary battery consumption. A free 16 GB ultra microSD card will be offered to the customers who book the Iris X1 on Amazon.in on 27th of May.

Lava has been constantly releasing its Smartphones into the market and now it has come with another budget device in the Iris series running on Android 4.4 KiKat Operating system called as the Iris X1. Earlier, in last month Lava Iris 406Q smart phone was released that was running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Operating System. According to the company the Lava Iris X1 is based on the recently launched Iris Pro series.

Lava has already started teasing about its upcoming smartphone with a caption Ready for the Xquisite. The Lava Iris X1 will be coming with a 4.5 inch touch screen IPS display and will run on android 4.4 KitKat Operating system. There is an 8 MP camera on the rear side of the device with dual LED flash and it will also feature a front facing camera. The processor, RAM, ROM and few other details of the device has not been revealed by the company yet.

Riding on the success of its Iris Pro series, Lava is really upbeat about this offering and plans to launch the phone in the next few days with a pan India 360 degree marketing campaign, said Lava in its statement. Apart from Lava Iris X1 few other Indian branded smartphones that run on Android OS are very few, that include, Karbonn Titanium Hexa that will go for sale starting May 20th for Rs. 16990.

The Lava Iris X1 comes with a beautiful chrome rim on to its side giving it a premium look and it also has removable back cover. From the image we can say that the device has a 3.5 mm audio jack at the top, beside the USB charging port. Coming to the side there are volume rockers to the right. The device will be priced under Rs. 8,000 and it will be launched in the coming few days.

Given that the Motorola Moto E was launched just today with a price tag of Rs. 6999, we expect this phone from Iris giving a little competition to the Moto E, especially with the design and the Android KitKat as there are no other decent smartphones which can compete it in this price range.
