Analysts are predicting that LG Electronics will manage to sell around 60 million smartphones by the end of 2014 which would be a great achievement. A major credit for such an impressive sales graph goes to the LG G3, which is going to be crowned as LG’s first smartphone to reach the 10 million sales milestone. Though, the sale of ten million units may not seem like a power performance when you compare it with super hit devices like the Galaxy S series or the iPhone but for LG, it is a mammoth achievement.
LG expressed its joy in a statement to the Korea Times, “LG has emerged as a new game-changer in a number of fields. LG Electronics’ latest flagship, the G3 smartphone, will exceed the 10 million sales mark for the first time since we entered the smartphone industry.”
The LG G3 has a compact construction and all the reviewers throughout the world gave it a thumbs up. Another big factor for its success may be LG’s focused strategic collaboration with various component manufacturers. It’s not like only their smartphone-making unit that is flourishing; LG Display (displays manufacturing unit), LG Innotek (components manufacturing unit), and LG Chem (batteries manufacturing unit) have reported amazing performances as well.
LG says that it’s going to further double its efforts in the second half of 2014. The company recently unveiled the G3 Stylus, the budget L Bello and L Fino, and their second Android Wear based smart watch, the G Watch R.
