Finally the LG G3 is here after 9 months from its predecessor LG G2 that was a very good device considering its specs and features. This flagship device from LG might have come on to the scene late, but it will be flaunting a Quad-HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display and many new and high end features. We have seen the flagship devices of Samsung, Sony and HTC already and now it is time to compare all these flagship devices from big Smart phone makers and see which one stands out where.
Design and Dimensions
LG is well known for mounting its hardware buttons on the back of the device, it was see in the LG G2 and now it’s the same case with the LG G3. Many had problem with the buttons on the back as they were a bit bulky but the company has made the buttons in a hollow like structure, so that it does not give the bulky feel any more. Other than this change, nothing much is noticeable from its previous design and almost looks the same.
The LG G3 is 8.9 mm thick, which is thicker than the Galaxy S5 and Xperia Z2 Smartphones that are at 8.1mm and 8.2 mm respectively and it might be because of its bigger display and built, but the HTC One M8 is the thickest of the lot at 9.4 mm. These devices are also in the lighter side, as the G3 weights 149 grams, whereas the Xperia Z2, Galaxy S5 and One M8 are at 158, 145 and 160 grams respectively. There is not a big difference in the weight of these devices and should be easier to carry with you always.

Coming to the pricing of these devices, the LG G3 is priced at KRW650,000 ($635) in Korea and we are not sure of the pricing of it outside Korea. The Xperia Z2 is priced at around $650, the flagship of Samsung is around $579 and the HTC One M8 is again around $650. The pricing may vary in different countries depending up on the carriers and the versions.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z2 are IP67 and IP 58 certified respectively for that makes the Galaxy S5 dust and water resistant and the Xperia Z2 becomes dust proof and water resistant. These two devices can resist water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. More over the Samsung Galaxy S5 also has the features like the Hate Rate Sensor and Fingerprint sensor that make it a unique device.
The HTC One M8 is known for its dual rear facing cameras so that you can capture depth details of the images you take. In spite the dual rear camera and all the powerful specification, HTC has not made much news in the smart phone market. For now we are not sure how the LG G3 feels or works in our hand, so until we use them we cannot conclude anything. We need to wait few more days to know all about this flagship device from LG.
