LG Optimus L7 vs Sony Xperia U Specs & Features Comparison

The HTC One V, LG Optimus L7, Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus and Sony Xperia U are the new range of smart phones competing in the mid range segments. We have already compared Sony Xperia U with HTC One V where HTC One V emerged as the winner and One V also beats Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus and here we compare LG Optimus L7 with Sony Xperia U smart phone.

Sony Xperia U also known as Sony Ericsson ST25i Kumquat is another addition to existing Xperia NXT series of smart phones. This smart phone is the little brother of Sony’s flagship Xperia S smart phone but it’s with less features to make the price go on the lower side and thus it comes in the range of affordability. This smart phone puts up competition against the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus, HTC One V and LG Optimus L7, all fall in the same category of competition.

LG Optimus L7 P7000 is also known as LG Optimus L7 P705 for the Chinese market is the recently launched Android smart phone by LG Electronics. LG Electronics after all have come up with Android 4.0 OS pre installed on the device in all of their L Style series of smart phone and Optimus L7 is no exceptional.

LG Electronics has supplied Optimus L7 with a thickness of 8.7 mm with the thinness part and measures the form factor of 125.5 x 67 x 8.7 mm and weights 122 grams. Xperia U measures a thickness of 12 mm and weights 110 grams.

Sony Xperia U –  1320 mAh Li-ion battery

LG Optimus L7 when we comes to the battery specifications its with 1700 mAh Lithium ion battery whereas Sony Xperia U is spotted with 1320 mah Lithium ion battery. Optimus L7 with those battery specification provides a talk time of 6 hours and 550 hours of standby time. Xperia U provides the continuous music playback time of 45 hours and talk time of atleast 6 hours or the standby time of around 260 hours.

Sony Xperia U with 8 GB internal memory storage capacity doesn’t include a micro SD card to expand the memory further. Whereas LG Optimus L7 is with 4 GB of internal memory and includes micro SD card slot supporting 32 GB of maximum storage capacity. It also has 512 MB of RAM.

Price Comparison

LG Optimus L7 – Rs 18,000 or $ 360

Sony Xperia U – Rs 16500 or $ 330

Sony Xperia U is priced at Rs 16500 and LG Optimus L7 is priced at Rs 18,000 in India. LG Optimus L7 is priced at Rs 18,000 in India considering the large 4.3 inches display screen.


So after comparing various parameters of both the phones, LG Optimus L7 is with 4.3 inches large screen display never seen in this price tag before, Xperia U leads with dual core speed, graphical display and provides additional front facing camera though both have same specifications on the rear side. But Optimus L7 leads its way with Android 4.0 ICS pre installed on the device and its measures a thickness of 8.7 mm. Moreover L7 is with stronger 1700 mAh battery specifications, micro SD card support (not seen on Sony Xperia U) clearly outperforms the Sony Xperia S smart phone. So what does that mean? It means that LG Optimus L7 is better device when compared with specifications but greatest power of Xperia U is that it has dual core processor in comparison with Optimus L7 smart phone which is with single core processor.

    Damn! should have gone for the L7 (a year ago) this screen is really small and hard to type.
