LG shows off smartphone with dual curved-edge display at CES 2015 – Details

LG Display, the sister company of LG, showcased smartphone with a display that have curves not just on one side but on both sides.The prototype is LG’s answer to the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge’s innovative curved display. According to the latest reports, this is just one of many products LG Display offered privileged industry leaders behind closed doors at a special CES 2015 meeting.

The LG Display concept device features a 6-inch Active Bending OLED display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution.
The phone was an unnamed conceptual prototype. LG Display said that it’s ready for mass production.It’s not clear whether this mystery handset is the yet-to-be-announced LG G4 or not.

LG’s has launched the much-anticipated launch the G Flex 2 at CES 2015.

The single-SIM LG G Flex 2 runs Android 5.0 Lollipop and features a 5.5-inch full-HD curved P-OLED display with a 1080×1920 pixels resolution and 403ppi pixel density.

The display is said to have 700mm-radius curvature while the back is slightly steeper with 650mm-radius curvature for grip. The glass is also said to be toughened approximately 20 percent more with LG’s own special chemical treatment technology.

The company has reportedly improved upon the ‘Self Healing’ back from the original LG G Flex and will now get healed within 10 seconds at room temperature – significantly lower than the last-generation’s three minutes.
