Samsung Galaxy S4 GT I9505 smartphone can now be updated with the latest version of Jellybean 4.2.2 which is dubbed as XXUDMH8. So, for all those who are still waiting for the jellybean 4.3, needs to wait for some time before it’s officially pushed globally but it now seems that Kit Kat 4.4 will soon be a reality for Galaxy S4 sooner than later. While it will still take some time for Official Jellybean 4.3 to roll out globally, till then you can install this firmware in your device which comes with minor bug fixes.
Note: Since this firmware is an official firmware update released by Samsung, applying this won’t root the device in any manner.
Quick Pre Requisites:
- Create a backup of all the data with the help of below mentioned steps only and not with the help of KIES as it won’t help you restore the data.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log – Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
- Enable the USB Debugging Mode in your computer from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging” in your Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo. Also, the minimum battery life should be a minimum of 40% or else there is a risk of device getting turned Off in the middle of firmware update.
