Manual Update SONY Xperia Z with Official Jellybean 4.2.2 10.3.1A.1.10 Firmware – Guide

SONY Xperia Z Android smartphone can now be updated with the help of Official Jellybean 4.2.2 Firmware. Just in case if you haven’t received the update, then you can apply this update manually as well. So, let’s check out on how you can apply this update which is dubbed as 10.3.1A.1.10. Before proceeding to the instructions to update, follow the list of quick pre requisites which we have mentioned below.

Note: Applying this update will in no manner be rooting the device as it’s the official firmware update released by SONY.

Quick Pre Requisites:

  • Create a backup of all the data in your SONY Xperia Z device, ROM Manager or any other tools like PC Companion etc. for creating the backup.

SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log – Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

  • Enable the USB Debugging Mode in your computer from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. Make sure that your SONY Xperia Z is left with the minimum of 50% battery or else the device might just get turned Off in the middle of firmware update.
  • Also, make sure that the MTP Mode is Disabled which can be done from the path “Settings > Xperia > Connectivity > USB Connection Mode” to select the MSC Mode and not the MTP Mode.

    The Flashtool couldn’t proceed the flashing process, they’re looking the driver for S1 fastmode (S1 Service), please help where can i get the driver? I’m using Win7 64bit
